Choosing your first oils, and the three easiest ways to use them.
You only need two or three oils to start. Pick scents you enjoy: a floral like lavender, a citrus like sweet orange, and something fresh like peppermint or eucalyptus.
Three easy ways to use them
- Diffuser: the simplest place to start. A few drops in water fills a room with scent.
- Massage: always mixed into a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba first.
- Bath: mixed with a dispersant or carrier oil before it goes into the water, so it doesn’t sit on top.
Top, middle and base notes
Top notes are bright and first to fade, middle notes are the heart of a blend, and base notes are deep and long-lasting. A balanced blend usually has one of each.
